An OWL for the Headmaster by DH Kijewski

Kiva had been contemplating saying anything to the Headmaster about Hyana. The situation with Irene had been pretty straight forward. Irene had come right out and told Kiva what had been happening in her life as well as the letter her uncle had sent, which made Kiva's job much easier when confronting Manfred with it all.

Hyana's situation wasn't so much that Hyana said something so blunt as Irene, but how her attitude changes whenever her mother is mentioned. Since the very first conversation with Hyana, Kiva had been worried about her life at home. Her noticeable fear of her mother wasn't natural and, despite knowing this might fall on the line of favortism, Kiva had taken a liking to Hyana and wanted the young first year to really be happy with whom she was and proud.

In the end, though, Kiva decided it couldn't hurt to inform the Headmaster of her worries. Either Kiva was just being paranoid because of what happened with Irene, or she had some real reasons for them. Either way, Bulla had to know.

Dear Headmaster,

Over the course of the year, I have had many conversation with a first year by the name of Hyana Kamiya. She's a very sweet girl, but I worry for her life at home.

Whenever her mother is mentioned in a conversation, Hyana will immediately closeup as if in fear of saying something wrong. From what I've been told, her mother doesn't fancy her being a witch and I don't think that has changed at all after Midterm.

I may be over reacting due to the situation with Ms. Liddowe, but I wanted you to be aware of my concerns. I'll keep an eye on Hyana and hope that she or one of her friends will feel as though they can confide in me with any homelife problems. But, in case it happens to be another professor they decide to talk to, you'll at least be informed that there may be a possible situation to be dealt with.

Sincerely,
Kiva
