You know it's bad, Selina mused, looking at the last remains of her meal, when attending the Opening Feast of a school that Sorts by turning the first years colors is relaxing. Her father had "convinced" - or, as her mother preferred to put it, "guilt tripped" - her to spend part of the summer with him and, though none of them had ever mentioned it even in passing, her stepmother and half-brother. If Eve hadn't decided to tag along, Selina thought she might have gone mad before September. Age had not made Cordelia's name suit her any better, and Edwin...was Edwin. As always.
It hadn't been all bad, though. Lindy and her husband had visited for a while, and they had been introduced to Viva's latest boyfriend. Their father approved of him much more than he had of her now ex-husband; he was apparently pureblooded and asked no questions about why a Randall would introduce him to the Marlowes. Lionel had even, through some feat of diplomacy only he could have ever managed, convinced Nick to show up, turning it into a sibling reunion. Selina hadn't been as surprised as she might have been; even Cordelia liked Leo, grudgingly or not.
The movement around her made her think about the present again. The other Heads of Houses had already rallied their first years. Trying not to turn as red as her dress robes, Selina went about gathering the Crotali to her.
"Welcome to Sonora," she said, folding her hands and ignoring any reactions to her, for the moment, mostly British accent. "I am Professor Marlowe, your Head of House. I'll show you the way to the commons now."
OOC: Sorry for the delay, folks - rough schedule. Also, there's no need to end your Feast threads if they're not complete; this is just to let everyone know that the way to the commons has been shown.\n\n
