The feast progressed onward, and Declan soon retreated from the conversation, content to enjoy the food (he'd done far too much of the cooking over the summer, and Merlin only knew why Maggie and Mum had abandoned the kitchen to him, outside of a sturdy Confundus Charm) and listen to the conversations around him. Soon, though, it began to grow late, and though the voices of staff member and student alike continued to chatter on, plates were emptied and pushed away, goblets were drained and discarded--and it was time for Declan to take up his place as the head of Teppenpaw House.
Kiva and Marian went to collect their students, and Declan followed suit, pushing back out of the chair and making his way down to the main floor. "Teppenpaw," he called, with the careful and subtle application of a very minor, wandless Sonorus Charm just to make sure they all heard him. "This way, if you please," he added with a smile.\n\n

Following the leader by Gwyneth with Meri

well....I guess that I'm coming too..... by Hikaru Kasuragi with Professor Deck
Gwyneth looked up when she heard a voice from the head table call for Teppenpaw. She saw a professor stand and smile. 'Guess he is the Head of the House,' she thought. She quickly nudged her friend, Meri, and nodded in his general direction. "Well, I guess this is it!" she said with a mixture of excitement and trepidation as she stood up and prepared to follow the professor. 'Just what I am getting into?' she asked herself.\n\n
Kaylie had been sitting there in a daze. She'd sat back down by her brother and one of the first years but had been a little preoccupied. She was busy thinking about her prefect duties. She was going to take them very seriously. Not that Kaylie was going to go mad with power and become a rule-nut, taking points away for every little thing, but she was going to be there for the first years-and any other Teppenpaw-whenever they needed her. Maybe she could organize fun things for the first years to do. Let them get to know each other and her.
Her head jerked up as Professor Deck, the new Teppenpaw head, called for the first years to follow. Kaylie got up from the table as well. "Come on first years, let's go." She looked around, satisfied that they were done eating. "Good bye, Adam. I'll see you later." She said to her brother.
Adam's blue eyes looked downcast. "Bye."
Kaylie frowned breifly. She didn't like to leave him but she had to. She had duties as prefect that she had to do. She didn't want to let anyone down.
She walked over to Professor Deck, motioning for the first years to follow.\n\n
Meri was craning her neck to see as much of the rest of the room as possible when she felt her friend getting her attention. "Oh! Right!" She jumped to her feet hastily, over-turning a bowl in the process. It was, thankfully, rather empty, thanks to Meri's amazing appetite for fruit sweets, and she blushed a deep scarlet as she reached out and righted the bowl before joining the line of Teppenpaw students beside Gwyneth. She kept her eyes down, feeling her clumsiness to the extreme.
"Just ANOTHER reason why I should never fly..." she muttered under her breath. "If I didn't manage to knock myself off the broom before I passed out from fright, I'd probably disable half the team by accident." She sighed and shrugged ruefully at Gwyneth. "Sorry," she said, in a voice colored with her embarrassment. \n\n
Gwyneth noticed her friend's haste and subsequent embarassment due to the bowl. When she heard what Meri muttered under her breath, she felt complete empathy. She gave her friend a brief hug. "I almost knocked over my seat, and that is firmly on the ground. Can't wait to see what damage we can do together in the air on brooms!" she said with a rueful laugh. "Don't worry about it. We are in this together, for better or worse!"
Following the other students out of Cascade Hall with Meri, she asked, "So, do you know where the Common Room is for Teppenpaw? Is there a" dropping voice to a whisper,"secret password?" All of a sudden Gwyneth felt a strange mixture of emotions. She felt both apprehensive and excited. "This year will either be really cool or really weird. Maybe a little of both," she muttered under her breath.\n\n
Hikaru heard the Proffessor and sighed...he had wanted to stay in the hall longer but, oh well...... He walked after the group not looking very enthused\n\n

I'm glad to see you're already participating in our new term! I would like, however, to remind you that we generally place the minimum length of a post at about two paragraphs of five sentences each (though the exact format is, of course, up to you and the post's content). This makes it much easier for others to respond to your posts. If you're strapped for things to write about, think about this: what is your character wearing, or thinking, or doing? What is their facial expression like? What are the surroundings like?
Also, please note that spelling and punctuation are things to watch out for. An ellipsis, which should be used sparingly and not as typical punctuation, consists of three periods--"..."--if it is in the middle of a sentence, and if at the end of the sentence, four--"....".
