A final list for Quidditch spots had been written less than an hour after try-outs, and it had been torn to pieces in a few more. Sadly for any team members anxiously awaiting the results, it had not been the last list Anne had made up and promptly changed her mind about. With the sole exception of her first year, when only six people could be found, things had always worked out beautifully with sign-ups before, and having to make someone unhappy had sent her into an almost-unprecedented flurry of anxiety. Knowing that mismanagement on her part had made the problem worse did not help.
As Geoff had finally had his fill of listening to her tries at analyzing the team, though, she'd finally written up the final final list and attached it to the big bulletin board in the common room with her wand. It hung, as always, as straight as she could make it and held no embellishment; she trusted them to have the good sense to find it on their own. If she had just been a rank-and-file team member, Anne was sure she'd have been checking the announcements five or so times a day.
