Dear Paul,

While making sure you were safely on your way to see the Medic during Care of Magical Creatures lesson, I had forgotten to remove the Puffskein from your possession. Because you had left the lesson early, you weren't there to hear my final words.

No one is allowed to keep the Puffskeins until I receive parental permission. Until I receive a letter from your parents or legal gaurdian stating that it is alright for you to have the puffskein, I will need for you to return the one in your current possession immediately.

If you fail to do so, be prepared to face the consequences.

A returning letter by Paul Tarwater

Professor K,

Yes, I had heard from the other students that we were to give the puffskeins back. I will be returning it as soon as possible, and am only writing this due to the "concequences" part. Expect to have Sanctuary back within the week. I have yet to write to my parents, but once I do I'm sure they'll forward onto you my ablness to own a puffskein.
