The tip of her nose brushing the cool glass of the dorm window, Anne watched the absentee students reentering the school for a few minutes, amusing herself by making faces at them from too far away to be seen, before abruptly moving to a folder on her bed, pretending she had to look to know which parchment was the parchment, the parchment she'd spent several bored hours over midterm preparing and repreparing until she got it just how she wanted it. She didn't look at it beyond what was required to ascertain that she wasn't about to stick an old Charms essay to the noticeboard instead of The Parchment, knowing it would only result in finding previously unnoticed faults.
Moving down the stairs, she stuck her head out to make sure that the common room was empty, mostly for the drama of the gesture. She could see, vaguely, why Lenny got off on this sort of thing. It was fun, pretending she was doing something sneaky and covert and maybe even illegal, instead of just thumbtacking a scrap of paper to a wall designed for that purpose. Once she was quite sure her domain was entirely hers for the last few minutes before all the other Aladrens came clamoring to take it back, she crossed the room and placed the new notice in the gap left by the Quidditch sign-up sheet. She'd taken it down a week before midterm, this time, to give everyone time to notice and therefore be aware of it when a new paper went up in the old one's place. Once the list was attached beyond any reasonable doubt of falling, Anne disappeared back up the stairs, aiming to enjoy the last few minutes of solitude to the fullest.
The notice, hanging in exactly the same spot as the sign-up sheet that had preceded it but noticeably neater, read so:
