Jinx? by Mathilda
Mathilda raised her eyebrows as the professor introduced herself. Jinx? She shuddered as she remembered the last time she heard someone with that name.It was a few years ago and she was flying in an airplane to visit some family in Texas. The pilot's voice came over the speaker and introduced himself as Richard* Jinx. It took all of Mathilda's strength not to get off the plane right then and there. Thank goodness for the calming potion that her mother had, the benefits of having a seer in the family, Mathilda had speculated at the time.
Usually she wasn't that superstitious, but between her mother's strange behaviour and the pilot's name, Mathilda was feeling a bit nervous. About an hour after the plane took off, Mathilda wished she had listened to her instinct. When the plane finally landed, she was never so thankful in her life to be on the ground, that was the worst flight ever, she was amazed that no one was hurt.
She hoped the professor wouldn't mind if Mathilda called her 'Professor Rockwell."
