After a week of no staff and interestingly organized days, Emrys decided that it was time he go to the MARS room. However, he felt weird going there without Charlotte as it had become their hangout. At the same time though, he was having difficulties trying to get ahold of her as they never seemed to be eating in the Great Hall at the same time and he had kind of given up on going to class much. He preferred to take his books to the library and self-teach himself what was in them. Each lesson provided useful and he was beginning to store up a lot of practical knowledge. He knew it was probably disrespectful to not go to the classes that the older students were trying so hard to keep together for them but he couldn't help but feel as though he'd rather be taught by a teacher. He was sure that they had only gotten older students who were competent to take over the young year's classes, but he still felt as though since it wasn't their particular profession there could be a small chance he would learn something wrong and then have to work extra hard to correct it.
So, that afternoon, after he had finished his readings- Emrys had allotted one chapter a week from each of his school books, self assigning homework to ensure he was completely understanding the material; Emrys collected his school things to return to the Aladren common room and write Charlotte. He knew that owls weren't flying out but he had no reason to believe that they wouldn't fly to other places in Sonora, and besides it was the only way he could be sure to contact Charlotte.
Miss Charlotte, he wrote. I would be most obliged if you could meet me in the MARS room at your convenience. I would greatly love to catch up and play some music together again. If you would please, send me a time that works for you I am sure that I will be able to attend. Sincerely yours, Emrys Lucan
Although no staff meant that there wasn't a particular schedule any of them absolutely had to be on Emrys still wanted to be sure that Charlotte was free. He didn't care for being too presumptuous and assuming she was free all day long.

An entire week had gone by with no sign of any adults and Charlotte had been on the verge of a panic attack sometime mid-week when she realised she would not be able to get in contact with any of her relatives back home. Missy, a grown cat now, was annoyed at how often Charlotte wanted to pet her to soothe herself and took to hiding or roaming the Crotalus common room whenever Charlotte was in the dorm room. The only person who hadn't completely left her was Adam who had taken measures to comfort her and stick by her side the entire week, save when she had to go back to her dorm on her own. He was the only reason she hadn't gotten sick with anxiety yet.
There was no use to be found in worrying, but Charlotte couldn't help it. Adam seemed to be doing fine and she didn't understand how the others seemed to be staying calm. There were no adults! There were no authority figures! Sonora was on the brink of anarchy and she wanted to go home. Perhaps not on the brink of anarchy as the Prefects were doing their best to create order, but Charlotte didn't spend much time out except when she was in the library or in the gardens with Adam.
Her brother hadn't contacted her yet about where she should meet him today for tea and she assumed he was out socialising with his mates. It was completely unfair how much time she took up with him, but that was his role as her older brother. It was also unfair that he wasn't spending more time with her especially since all she did when she wasn't with him was sit around in the Crotalus common room biding her time reading her textbooks or practising her penmanship.
The owl finally came, but Charlotte saw quickly that it wasn't from Adam. She didn't recognise it as Emrys' until she opened it, and she realised then that she had forgotten all about him in her panic. Or perhaps he had forgotten about her. Instead of thinking who was at fault for not making the first contact, Charlotte concentrated on the letter and the fact that he had written her at all inviting her to another music session.
Charlotte replied immediately; with nothing else to do she may as well meet him that very day or the next. It was proper of him not to assume that she was completely free, though she was, out of politeness, and she had always appreciated that of Emrys. He was polite and Charlotte liked that.
Mr Emrys, I would be most honoured to join you at the MARS room. Would late afternoon today be too soon?
Yours, Charlotte Spencer

Sorry for taking so long. Now that midterm has started I feel it would be too difficult to finish this thread- I've included my email in case you want to decide how this meeting went there. It would be sad to think Charlotte and Emrys never spoke at all this term.
