Kirstenna Melcher

Kirstenna Melcher had done a lot of dangerous things in her life. She'd soared on trapezes high up in the air. She'd fed lions and tigers and ridden elephants. She'd played Quidditch against this year's Aladren team. However, none of those foolish, potentially deadly things was as foolish and potentially deadly as what the Teppenpaw was doing now.

She was going to the Impostor's office at the request of her nemesis.

It was possibly the most idiotic thing that Kirstenna had ever done. This was the woman (or possibly man, she wasn't one hundred percent sure of the Impostor's real identity and thus, real gender) that had kidnapped Brian. The person who had killed the real Jannette Wolfe and the last person who pretended to be Amelia Pierce and assumed their identities. The person who had poisoned the former Headmistress. Merlin only knew what she (or he) planned to do to Kirstenna .

The third year had take precautions though, leaving a letter for Derry telling him where she was going and to alert Headmaster Regal if Kirstenna wasn't back within an hour. She had chosen the first year because he completely believed her about the Impostor-and Kirstenna certainly couldn't go to her roommate when the Impostor was probably a Carey as well.

Kirstenna knocked on the Crotalus HOH's door, her stomach full of butterflies. She might very well have less than an hour to live, if the Impostor knew that Kirstenna was on to her. At best, she was likely off to that hotel room in New Mexico. The best she could hope for was that Brian was still there alive and that the room was charmed not to smell bad with the dead bodies that were buried underneath the floor.

Coach Amelia Pierce

Someone knocked on the outside hall door, not the interior Common Room one. Not a Crotalus then. Which meant it was probably about Quidditch, and there was only one Quidditch player she was actually expecting to see now that the season was over.

She used her wand to swing the door open and didn't even look to see if she was right as she called out, "Kirstenna. Glad you could make it. Please come inside."

Then she turned and smiled a little, pleased that she'd been right and had not just made a fool of herself by calling Jose or Daniel or Edmond or someone else by Kirstenna's name. Maybe she'd even earn some kind of reputation for the Sight. Though it was not unknown in her family, she didn't have the gift herself. It might be useful if her Crotali thought she did, though. She made a mental note to try to foster that impression in the future.

"Take a seat, Miss Melcher," she invited formally, pointing to the chair on the visitor side of her desk. Amelia took the more comfortable looking one on her side of it.

Once the girl tentatively stepped into the room, Amelia swished her wand again and closed the door behind her. "As you may be aware, Captain Brishen will not be returning next year."

She smiled encouragingly, as the girl still seemed a bit ill-at-ease. "Congratulations, you have been promoted to Teppenpaw captain. Obviously, you'll now be in charge of getting sign-up sheets up at the beginning of the year and hosting try-outs. Rosters are due after three weeks, and booking the pitch is just a matter of sending me an owl or dropping by here to arrange a time to reserve it. Is there anyone you'd specifically like to request as your assistant? I'm currently considering Kate Bauer, but if you have any reason to prefer someone else, I'm open to suggestion. You're the one who has to work with her."
