Horrible no good very bad day by Dmitry Talsky

The day had seemed extra long to Dmitry, it was probably because today was his sister’s birthday. Something that always reminded him of the day he lost his mother. It was no fault of Dasha’s that Mama had died, it was those butcher mudbloods who had torn her apart. Some people would say the Doctors Butchers, had tried to save Mama but Dmitry knew, they weren’t wizarding Healers and he would NEVER allow them dirty people to touch him.

He entered the common room with a scowl on his face and dropped his bag with a loud bang. He glared at the students around him, daring one of them to speak up about his noisiness. He wasn’t scared that an older student would say something to him; he could handle himself against any of them, unless it was Charlie. At the thought of his girlfriend he sighed. Something was going on and the fifth year had no clue what that was. They seemed to be in a fog as of late. Had she strayed from him? If she did he would have to defend his honor and duel the boy who had taken her from him.

He loosened his tie and flopped down onto a loveseat, a scowl still on his face. He was pretty sure that there was a Quidditch practiced tonight but he had no urge to go. Usually he loved to go and beat the tar out of some ball but tonight he just wasn’t feeling it and for the first time in a long time the stonehearted Russian just wanted someone to be there for him. He had ruined his relationship with his father, and step-mother long ago, and his half-brother seemed to fear him more than anything else. Dasha was half crazed out of her mind, and Charlie was pulling away from him. He sighed once again as he felt someone sit next to him. “Yes?” He asked without opening his eyes.

Coherency is lacking by Charlotte Abbott

So much to do, so much to do. There were days when Charlie felt as though she barely stopped - she was like a human whirlwind. With Quidditch and dancing and prefect duties and homework it was no wonder she seemed never to have any free time. All her activities seemed to be done with half interest, too, making time to squeeze in everything. In particular she felt her relationships straining. Charlotte hadn't written to her family in over a month, and she barely spoke to Lita, even though they shared a room together and had been best friends for years. Then there was Dmitry. Charlie didn't even know what was happening there - it didn't feel like it used to. They used to have fun, and Charlie knew she had been really attracted to him. Now, on a bad day, he was just something else she had to squeeze into her tight schedule. She didn't want it to be like that, but there was only so much she could do.

Speak of the devil. Coming back into the commons on her way from the library, Charlie so Dmitry sitting with a scowl on his face. He was still hot, but he looked grumpy, too. Hoping to cheer him up, Charlie made her way over. She was wearing tight jeans, dark green ankle boots and a loose t-shirt in the same color, a black jewelled belt around her waist. Her long hair was braided down her back and she was wearing small hoops in her ears. In short, she looked, as always, pretty damn good.

Dmitry couldn't see that, though, because his eyes were closed. "Yes?" he said, and he sounded as miserable as he looked.

"Thought you looked like you could use some cheering up," Charlie said, keeping her tone light. "I mean, we have practise in half an hour, but if you wanted a more personally-tailored cheering up, then I'm at your service." She smiled. The least she could do was try to patch things up with Dmitry. Maybe they were just having a dry spell... that happened, right?

I guess you could say that. by Dmitry

At the sound of Charlie’s voice Dmitry’s eyes flew open. He looked her over for a moment before greeting her. “Hello Krasivaya.” He straightened up a bit and smirked. He loved calling Charlie beautiful in Russian, to him it sounded better though he knew most people thought Russian was a harsh language.

He forced a smile. “I only need cheering up when you’re not around.” He wouldn’t admit to her that he was upset, lonely, and that he needed someone to care for him. Only the weak would do something so foolish. He had not told Charlie about Dasha and his mother. Why would he admit to having a squib as a sister? Then no self respecting pureblood family would allow their daughter to be with him.

Part of his mind yelled that Charlie would stay no matter what but he had no clue if that was true. They had been distant from each other for quite sometime. He shook his head clearing the dark thoughts from his mind. “Must we go to practice?” He asked getting closer to her. “I feel there is something better we can be doing with our time.” He winked and smiled to show he was only joking but something in his voice made it seem like he truly meant it.

I think I just did by Charlotte

Charlie loved Dmitry calling her 'Krasivaya,' even more since she'd found out what it meant. It had the effect of making her smile widen as she settled in closer to him. Moments like these were why she and Dmitry were together. One would say something to make the other smile, and Charlotte would remember that he was kind, strong, attractive and mysterious, and that she was his girlfriend and life was just perfect. Maybe it wasn't their relationship that was the problem - maybe it was that they weren't finding enough time for each other. Charlotte easily believed that was true - she didn't have time for anything these days.

"I only need cheering up when you’re not around," Dmitry told her. He often had a way with words that made Charlie feel special. She leant in and kissed him gently on his temple - he'd looked unhappy when she'd come in, though whether it was from tiredness, frustration or genuine upset she couldn't tell, and she wouldn't ask - he'd tell her if there was something important on his mind. Mostly Dmitry was a private person, and Charlie knew it would be irritating if she asked him what he was thinking all the time. He'd always shared things with her when he wanted to, so there was no need for her to pry. Besides, she was open enough for the both of them. That was another thing that impressed her about Dmitry - he was from this amazing pureblood family, and he didn't seem to mind that Charlie's own family behaved like they were Muggles. She was pureblood, too, she supposed, but her parents ran a Muggle hotel and had sent her to Muggle schools before Sonora. It was great that things like that didn't matter to Dmitry.

"Must we go to practice?" Dmitry asked, and he moved closer, too. "I feel there is something better we can be doing with our time."

Charlotte laughed and couldn't restrain her mischievous smile. "I like the sound of that," she replied. But then her expression alter slightly - she was still smiling, but now it was apologetic. "Unfortnately I do have to go to practise - you know, as the captain - and I'm going to play my captain card and say that yes, you have to come, too." She poked her tongue out at him for good measure. "But..." - her smile was back to signalling mischief again - "we could always go down to the broom shed early, if you like." She knew he would get her gist.
