It was late in the night, or very early in the morning. Whichever you want to call it, Jenna still couldn't get to sleep. She didn't understand it, but for some reason she was just twitching with energy. By now she figured there was no point in trying to sleep anymore. So, brushing the hair out of her face, and putting her school robes over her nightgown, she took a book about potions and left the girls' dormitory. She had purposely picked (what was in her opinion) the most boring book in her possession. If that didn't put her to sleep, nothing would.
Finding an armchair close to the fireplace (the better to see the tiny text) she curled up and opened the book. She never was able to get very far into the book- it was one her father had given her about famous pureblooded alchemists from prominent families. The book had hundreds of pages, but she wasn't past the first chapter.
"Let's see, what do we have for today?" she muttered as she began to read.
...And so, Henry Grayson IV of the Salem Graysons married Felicity Turner, a muggle. He was quickly disowned, ruining his career as an alchemist forever, seeing as he no longer had the proper funding... James Grayson, whose father was Henry Grayson IV's cousin once removed later became a successful alchemist. He married Sabrina Hexman, from a wealthy pureblood family..."
Nine pages later, Jenna's head was on her shoulder, her eyes closed. The book slipped from her hands, falling on her lap, the pages turning to some later chapter. Finally, Jenna was in a light sleep, but sleep nonetheless, when someone entered the common room.\n\n
