After some time being introduced at Sonora, Will found it very easy to get around. He had mapped out all his classes and the fastest way to get to them, and had gone to all the main rooms. He had even done a little snooping, finding a couple unused passageways and a few nice shortcuts.
One place, however, he hadn't yet explored. They called it the MARS room, and Will had read a little about it in a book on Sonora. Apparently the various rooms could change into different rooms, a water based room, a sports room, a music room, things like that. Will thought it was a fantastic idea, being able to think of a place and then go there. It was like the ultimate daydream, surely much more vivid than the passing mindsets Will often found himself in.
Soon, he was unable to avoid exploring it any longer, and, confident that he had saved the best for last, headed off to the mysterious MARS rooms. As he strolled towards his destination, he pondered which room he should try today, seeing as he only probably had time for one room. He decided to try the water based room, because not only did he love swimming, but he loved nature and it seemed like the perfect choice for some beautiful scenery.
Finally reaching the MARS rooms, he entered the first one, picturing a small lake surrounded by rolling green hills, like in Ireland. The clouds were fluffy and lazily drifting by and mountains could be seen in the distance. Once the image was clear in his head, Will opened his eyes.
Surrounding him was a perfect reflection of his imagination, and Will grinned broadly before running over to the lake. Pulling his shirt off to reveal his lightly toned pale body, he dipped his foot in the water. Finding it the perfect temperature, he threw his shirt on a near-by rock and waded in.
After a couple slow laps, Will floated on his back, lazily gazing up at his envisioned clouds. He went over his exciting new life unto that point and then just let his mind to wander. He thought of all the new people he was surrounded by, and then of the familiar bunch back home. He thought of his mother, strict and kind, and his two giggling, ever-happy sisters. Even his Father, stern and silent crossed his mind.
When an eleven-year old's equivalent to an eternity had passed, Will let his feet drift to the gritty bottom of the lake before slowly striding back out onto shore. He pulled out a towel from the bag he had brought and pulled his favorite maroon sweatshirt over his head.
Looking down at his reflection he took time to evaluate himself for what seemed like the first time since he had come to Sonora. His now dark red hair framed his face, and ran down his back. He looked his reflection in it's identical blue eyes, a grin splitting two freckled faces. He then stood to his full height of five foot ten and stretched. Settling back down, he yawned quietly. ' Well, that was fun,' Will thought tiredly to himself. Gathering his things he strode for the door. ' A truly successful time of doing nothing,' he thought with a grin, looking over the peaceful scene one last time before heading back to the Pecari common room.
