Amira walked into Pecari Commons one evening after eating at Cascade Hall knowing that Sophie would be putting up their list soon. She hadn’t really been privy to much of the decision making though she and Sophie had spoken of a few of the Captain’s worries in regards to the team. The fourth year was crushed at not being able to be in her prized position, but she understood Sophie’s need to have her play Beater. They couldn’t run with only one of those. That would be detrimental to the whole team that way. If she wanted Pecari to have a chance at winning she would have to give up her Seeker spot to play Beater even though she wished she didn’t have to.
With a sigh, she spotted the paper Sophie told her would be up there. Walking over to it, the red-head glanced down the list and shook her head, wishing it didn’t have to be that way. To see HER name next to Seeker made the Assistant Captain’s blood boil inside, if only because she’d been better than her at Tryouts. She was the AC now and had to be flexible. Sure, Mira wanted her spot back, but she also wanted a chance at winning and Jade was no Seeker or Chaser or Beater, so… It was what it was and she didn’t have a choice in the matter.
She looked back at the list again and sighed as she heard a commotion behind her. The others must want to see the list… she thought as she stepped away, still reading down the list again.
Keeper: Sophie Jamison
Beaters: Amira Thornton, Rupert Princeton
Seeker: Jade Owen
Chasers: Ann Pierce, Waverly Canterbury, Mellie Goodwin (Head Chaser)
“Another year, one more chance to show Sophie what I can do has come and gone…” she said quietly, realizing too late she was actually speaking aloud. She hoped nobody heard her, But then if someone did, what did it matter? I’m still not playing Seeker… she thought as she sighed again and turned to go up to her room. There was something in her mind that decided she needed to be alone right then, at least for a little bit until her roommates came back or someone interrupted her. She wouldn't be surprised if Clara was the one to come in either, she knew her cousin cared about her. Staring into space, Amira sat on her bed, just thinking of what this year would bring her as a Beater instead of her prized Seeker spot.
