Saul had listened through the professor's speech, found the idea of riding the girls' stairway ride intriguing, but really, he was mostly impatient to get up to see his own room. He'd heard about rooms, of course. Neil had one at Salem. Simon had one at college and again here at Sonora. Even Aunt Regina sort of had one in her RV, but Neil said that didn't really compare.
Now just inside the doorway of his home for the majority of the year for the next seven years, Saul could see he was right. He was blocking the way for Grim and Michael to get inside, but this space was far more fascinating to Saul than the Cascade Hall had been. The Hall was impressive, but Saul was used to large places designated for eating even if they weren't so decorative and watery.
This, though. This was completely new. His eyes drank in the sights he'd only seen in books, movies, and cheap camp substitutes. Beds. Dressers. Real live beds and dressers. Well, except they were made of wood that came from cut down trees so 'live' probably wasn't the right descriptor there.
Once his eyes got their fill of the room, he suddenly dashed forward and climbed onto the nearest bed, disregarding that it wasn't his bag leaned up against it. He bounced a few times from a kneeling position, then decided that everything he'd heard about jumping on beds was probably based on fact because this bed had a really nice bounce to it. He pulled off his shoes, stood up, and started jumping on the bed.
"Whooo-hooo!" he shouted in glee, because really was as good as he'd thought it'd be. He jumped again, tried to do a flip, landed sidewise on his shoulder, bounced a few times before tumbling onto the floor, got up, and tried again with similiar results. When he got up again, he decided to forego the flip and just flop and bounce this time, and that was even funner because he didn't end up banging anything on the ground.\n\n
