Derry Four

Derry figured it was good thing he'd been excited enough about becoming the new Teppenpaw Captain that he'd drawn up the sign-up sheet within two days of returning home for the summer. It meant that now, being miserably ill, all he had to do to fulfill his captainly duties was find the sheet and post it up on the bulletin board. This was accomplished with a minimum of difficulty, since he'd put the sign-up sheet in his Charms book where it wouldn't get crumpled and he'd be sure to remember it.

Being tired after a horrible wagon ride and the excitement of the feast, he had a little more trouble finding his Charms book, but he eventually located it beneath all of his socks. Extricating the sign-up sheet from between its pages, he flattened out the creases then brought it down to the common room and pinned it up on the board shortly after Medic Bailey brought the first years through.

He waved cheerfully at the new students, as well as some older ones, still lingering about in the Common Room, and called out invitingly, "Quidditch Sign Ups are up! All are welcome to try out!"

Aubrielle Thornton

There was something inside the fourth year Teppenpaw that never had been there before, not really anyway. The drive to win. It was strange to Brielle, generally that was Arista, Amira and Andri that had that drive, but there was something about what had happened at the Summer Break and then shortly after returning to school that made her just want to win at something. And soon.

She had first found out that Marius was magical, or so she'd thought... She'd even spent money getting him what he'd need, and time teaching him what she knew. But her heart broke again when her mother had sent her the letter which she received right after the feast as the first years were called away to their Heads of Houses. Her mother wanted to be the one to break it to her, she'd even said that Marius was beside himself with anger and sadness. That he wasn't magical at all, it was his Dad that was and he'd been making Marius (and her) believe it was him. It explained why her boyfriend couldn't get any of the spells to work that Bri had tried with him, but she had chalked it up to not understanding what she was saying. But no. Marius was indeed a muggle and Bri just wanted to cry.

In fact, there were tears in her eyes as she walked into the Common Room after everyone else. She'd gotten away from everyone else and spent some time in the girls bathroom trying to calm down after she'd gotten the letter. Her eyes were red, face blotchy, but she'd made her decision once more. I've gotta go back to Teppenpaw, its almost time for curfew... she thought to herself with a sigh as she left said bathroom for their commons.

Maybe Derry will have signups up? At least that's something to go for, right? she thought to herself. Brielle had made her decision the year before to just go for it, no more wishy washy for her. There was now no more Seeker anyway, and she had no trouble after the practices last year (and also with Amira over the summer) taking up the roll. She couldn't wait for Captain Derry to put up the signups, at least that would give her something to look forward to.

Medic Bailey was still in the room with the first years when she entered and she watched as Derry placed the signup on the board. He waved cheerfully, though she could tell he wasn't happy either and told them the signups were up.

Bri looked at him, nodded and said, "Gotcha." The red-headed fourth year walked over, pulled out a quill and wrote, Aubrielle Thornton, 4th year, Seeker. She turned away from everyone and wiped her eyes before turning back to Derry. "I'm with you Cap."

Carter Browning

Carter saw Derry put up the sign-up sheet for Quidditch and couldn’t wait to put his name down again. He had soo much fun the first year playing beside Arista that he was really disappointed when they cancelled it for his second year. It kinda made sense that they would with the challenges that they were participating in and all. Those kind of left almost no time for Quidditch. He spent the summers between first year and last year training at home with his dad and grandpa. Since Arista graduated last term she was no longer there for him to work with. He just hoped the team was as much fun this year. Really the only way he was going to find that out was if he signed up and tried out again. He liked the chaser thing and he seemed to be half way decent at it (or so he thought). He wasn’t sure if he wanted to sign up for that position again if he wanted to try another one this time. Since he couldn’t decide he just decided to sign-up the generic way. So pulling a quill pen out of his bag, he scribbled his name under Aubrielle’s.

Carter Browning, Third Year, wherever you need me

Now that his name was officially on the sign up sheet he put his pen away and felt pretty good with himself. Wherever Derry decided to put him was fine with him. He had tried out just about every area there was and found that while he was fair at just about every other position he tried, he royally stunk at seeking. He had, but to wait for try-outs now to find out where he would end up.
