A letter to Kate Bauer by Boomer
As was normal for the end of the year, Coach Pierce's owl Boomer was sent out to visit several students who probably recognized the large eagle owl but had not previously received direct contact with him. One such student was Kate Bauer. Kirstenna was graduating in only a few days, so the younger Teppenpaw would become the Captain of the Teppenpaw team next year. That would likely not come as any surprise to the Assistant Captain, but it was always nice to get it in writing.Captain Kate Bauer, the letter attached to the owl's leg began.
Congratulations, you have been promoted to Quidditch Captain. Next year, you will be responsible for putting up sign-up sheets, holding try-outs, reserving the pitch for your team, and hosting practices throughout the year. You will, of course, have the help of an assistant captain. I recommend Derwent Pierce.
He was the obvious choice, the next oldest after Kate and Arista (who were in the same year and so Arista was not a possible choice as that would leave Teppenpaw without a trained captain once they both graduated), and a member of the team since his first year. Still, he was now part of Amelia's close family and she felt like she was making a nepotistic decision by naming her son's brother. Of course, it was only a recommendation, and the final call was Kate's.
