Pippa lead the first years down the halls of Sonora, making sure that all the first years were behind her. She would hate to lose anyone. Professor Crosby had trusted her with this duty and the school had trusted her with this position, and she would hate to let anyone down. Plus, it would just plain be awful for the first year to get lost. She also made sure to point out various landmarks so they could find their way through the school easier.When Pippa reached the entrance to the Teppenpaw Common Room, the seventh year prefect stopped, looking around to make sure that not only the first years were all there but that only Teppenpaws were present. With a sister like Tawny, one learned to be on their guard. "This diamond chip here" Pippa gestured to one of the stairs, "signifies the entrance to the commons. It can be opened by doing this jig." She quickly demonstrated, feeling just a bit sorry for those who weren't good dancers. "I am always available to help you learn it." It might be difficult for some people.
She entered the commons, motioning for the first years to follow. "This is the Teppenpaw Common room. Your rooms are up those two sets of staircases. That one is for boys" Pippa gestured to the appropriate staircase "and that one is for girls." She indicated the other one. "Do not try to enter go up the wrong staircase or you will find out there are dire consequences." She couldn't imagine why anyone would. The idea of being alone with boys was mildly frightening to Pippa, though when she had been alone with Juri, he had kissed her and that had been quite pleasant.
"My name is Pippa Brockert and I am the seventh year prefect. The others are Andrew Duell and Dulce Garcia. Our Head of House is Professor Lilac Crosby, whose office is over there." Pippa gestured again, this time to Professor Crosby's office. "The bulletin board over there will hold important announcements as well as Quidditch sign-ups. Our team captain is Kirstenna Melcher and the Assistant Captain, I believe, is Kate Bauer."
Pippa gave the first years a big warm welcoming smile. "Does anyone have any questions?" She thought for a second before quickly adding. "Pertaining to the information I just gave you or anything else concerning Sonora?" After being in class with her cousin Quentin for the last few years, Pippa knew that it was better to be specific when offering to help anyone out with things they didn't know. She would want to help them even if they were like Quentin but she wasn't sure she had answers for those types of questions.
