It's that time of year again (Tobar Brishen) by Coach Amelia Pierce

The beginning of each term was, for Coach Amelia Pierce, a time to go over each team's roster and cross out the names of the seventh years who had graduated. If the team no longer had a captain, she promoted the assistant, and named a new one. Teppenpaw's roster was one of those.

She took out a quill and wrote off a quick note:

Dear Tobar Brishen,

Congratulations! You have been promoted to full Quidditch Captain this year.

That couldn't come as a surprise, but it would probably still feel like an accomplishment when the promotion was made official.

Please put up a sign-up sheet in your common room and hold try-outs. Unless you have a better suggestion or an objection, I am going to assign

She paused for a second and looked over the remaining names left on last year's roster.

Kirstenna Melcher as your assistant. She can help you with try-outs and picking out a team. Please inform her of her promotion and good luck this year. Rosters are due in three weeks.

Sincerely,
Coach Amelia Pierce

The Teppenpaws had struggled to make a full team last year, and with Lucee's graduation, they were down one more. With luck, the new incoming Teppenpaws would fill in the gaps this year. From what she'd seen at the Feast, it looked like a good number of the new kids had turned yellow.

Yes!!! (Kirstenna Melcher) by Tobar Brishen

Tobar Brishen smiled when he saw that he had a letter from Coach Pierce. Without worrying, he read it over and smiled, at last he really was Quidditch Captain. Of course, he had the Captain’s pin but it was nice to know that the Coach recognized him as Captain. He practically danced with excitement and thought that putting Kirstenna as his Assistant Captain was a great idea. He rubbed his head and smiled as he thought about the best way to tell Kristenna she had been promoted.

Owling her seemed a bit crazy because they were in the same house but his decision was made for him when he saw the third year enter the commons room. He reached down and unclipped the Assistant Captains pin from his school bag where he had kept it since getting the Captain’s pin. He smiled as he made his way towards her. “Hey Kirstenna!” He cried happily a goofy smile on his face. He liked being able to tell people good news. “I have some very good news for you!” He then held out the Assistant Captain’s pin towards her. “You’ve been promoted to Assistant Captain of the Teppenpaw Quidditch Team!” He cried.
