Playing Santa by An Owl on behalf of Pepper

Pepper's name had been first on the list of those wanting to go home for the holidays. However, even though she was overjoyed to see her real family again, she hadn't forgotten her Sonoran one. Christmas Day saw her miles away, helping Connie pull paper off her presents, cutting up difficult potatoes for G.J, and being one of a dozen chattering voices around a dinner table. But at Sonora, an owl acting on her behalf, tried to make sure the firsties all had a merry Christmas.

It made its way into their rooms, before dawn had broken, and left a small net of chocolate coins on each bedside table. The tags were simply printed with the 'Merry Christmas' that the manufacturer stamped there. She liked the idea of the first years still having a Father Christmas, even if they were miles from the parents who would normally fill that role. The chocolate coins weren't much - printed as Muggle money, they would be nostalgia for some and a curioisity for others - but she hoped they'd be enjoyed. \n\n
