Books, books everywhere by Briony O'Leary

Briony trudged into the library carrying an armload of books that she had taken to read over midterm. After dropping them off, she headed for the aisles to see what other interesting books she could find. She skimmed her hand, as she browsed through the various titles. Maybe she could find one that told more about muggle life, something that might give her clues to what her mother's life was like before knowing she was a witch.

Finding one that looked interesting, she pulled it from the shelf and took it to a nearby table. Pulling out a chair, she sat down, curling her legs up under her. Most would question how she got into the position or found it comfortable for which she had no answer. She just did. On the chair next to her sat her bag, from which she pulled out some parchment and a quill to take notes. If all else failed, maybe what she found out would be useful for Muggle Studies.

Scratch, scratch, was the sound of the quill, as she jotted some tidbits down. Her red hair fell into her face. It always did that. Perhaps, she should get it cut. In annoyance, she pushed it out and smeared some ink onto her cheek. Not noticing, she went back to her work until a few moments later, she thought she heard something. Glancing up, she saw someone standing at her table.

"I'm sorry, did you say something?" She asked, her blue eyes looking at the person curiously.

I do think that having books everywhere should be a law. by Hikaru Kasuragi

Hikaru sighed as he walked into the library. He hadn't quite yet finished up his essay for McKindy and if he didn't; the eccentric Charms Professor would do horrible things to him. He sat at the table that was closest to him and pulled out a rather large roll of parchment that he kept for special occasions. He pulled out his favorite raven feathered quill and a jar of light blue ink. He began writing about how a light charm could be used in about twenty five different ways.

Hikaru glanced up at the clock as he realized he had been there almost three hours on the blasted assignment. He sighed as he realised just how hungry he was. He pulled out a small box he had filled with M and M's that he had brought from home. They were a guilty treat of his and he tried to avoid even looking at them while he was at home. Needless to say; he was a very scary person when he was on sugar.

Hikaru swore under his breath as he opened the box and saw that they were all gone. "Darn it all to hell!" He stomped his foot on the ground and stood up out of his seat. "I'm sorry, did you say something?" He looked over and saw. The girl was very pretty. Her sparkling blue eyes kinda shimmered in the lamp light and her red hair flowed around her like flames. Then he realized that there was something familiar about this girl. It hit him like ten million tons bricks. 'Oh my god! That's O'Leary daughter? At least I think it is. She's to young to be his sister, and to old to be a grandchild.'

'Uh, yeah. Sorry if I disturbed you. My name is Hikaru, Hikaru Kasuragi."

It would certainly be an interesting law by Briony

Briony smiled at the apologizing boy. He looked familiar. She didn't think he was in her class year. He looked too young. Maybe he was in Teppenpaw? Maybe she had seen him around the Common room? She gave a small mental shrug. It didn't matter all that much, she would find out soon enough.

"Nice to meet you, Hikaru," she said with a grin, as she entwined a piece of red hair around one pale finger. "I'm Briony O'Leary. What House are you in? I'm in Teppenpaw."

She waited for him to confirm what House he was in. She could swear she had seen him around the Common room. Unless, he had a twin...that was always possible. If he did, he was really lucky. She always wished for a sibling. Being an only child was a really lonely lot in life. At least, it was for her.

I think it is a necessary thing by Hikaru

Hikaru watched as the girl looked him over with a smile. 'Does she think that I'm someone else?' His thought echoed around in his head and he stomped it out before it had any chance to recoup. He did however think that she was familiar besides being O'Learys relation.

Hikaru smiled and nodded at Briony. "Cool, I'm a Tepp too." He smiled at his House mate. Well, she at least seemed interesting enough and he thought that she was kinda cute. 'If she is O'Learys daughter, I wonder what he would do if I knew.' Hikaru thought for a moment before blushing furiously. He coughed for second and spun around so she couldn't see him blush.

'I like Caedence, not Briony. Caedence is much more aggressive and I think more beautiful. This girl, is probably just a passing acquantince.' He mentally shrugged and smiled at the tall, red-headed girl. "So, what are you doing this lovely afternoon." Hikaru slightly screamed at her. He cringed and was inwardly scolding himself. 'I don't like this girl like that, moron!' He laughed nervously and placed a hand behind his head.

haha >^^< by Briony

Briony blinked a couple times in surprise. Why was he screaming at her? There was no reason to, especially in the library. Boys were weird sometimes.

"I'm just doing research," she told him in a soft voice hoping he would take the hint. She didn't want to embarrass him. She pointed towards her notes with her quill, clarifying, "On muggles."

She wasn't sure if she should continue further explanation that her mother had been muggleborn and that's why. If she did, then it brought up a whole slew of other questions that she didn't want to talk about, like how her mother was no longer with them. It always made her feel a little depressed to talk about it. She supposed that's why she wanted to know more about the muggle world, to feel closer to her mother.

Instead, she said, "For Muggle Studies. You?"

Yep... by Hikaru

Hikaru sighed as Briony replied to him in a soft calming voice. Why was she so calm in this situation? Girls were weird sometimes. Hikaru had established that principal a long time ago and all the girls; except for Rily of course, were odd in one way or another.

"Oh, cool." Hikaru replied calmly as she told him what it was about. At least she was researching a pretty broad topic. He thought that Muggles were cool, but he found himself questioning their way of doing things. Sometimes they did stuff that made absolutely no sense.

"Me?" He asked as she questioned him. "I'm finishing up a Charms essay for Bubbles before I head to his class." He looked at his small pocket watch and saw that he was supposed to meet up with Hyana a few minutes ago.

"Oh, wait! I've gotta go and meet someone. I had fun talking to you Briony! See you later!" He whispered as he ran out the door.
