It wasn't that Jaeven didn't like libraries. It was merely that he usually couldn't manage to sit still enough to not be kicked out. Today was a little bit different, though. Jae was examining the most AWESOME book EVER. Entitled 25 Famous Wizards of the Americas, it was written in what appeared to be some other language. Jae didn't care, though, because it had the coolest pictures ever.
They moved. He had never seen a book with pictures that moved, before. And not only did the pictures move, but they waved at him too! Some of them looked like they were talking to each other, but Jae couldn't hear them, no matter how hard he tried. That was a little bit disappointing, but the pictures were still madcool.
Jae's wandstick was stuck behind one ear, his tongue was stuck out a bit as his green eyes ran over the page, trying to find a word he knew. He was wearing tan cargo pants and a black t-shirt, but he hadn't been able to figure out how to get those robe things on this morning. He wore black Converse high-tops as well, and a tugging on his laces distracted Jaeven from his new favorite entertainment. He looked up to find a cat batting at them!
"Hi kitty," Jae said, reaching out a hand to pet the animal. "what's your name?" He liked cats. He liked most animals, for that matter. Dogs were fun too. Some of the kids here seemed to have owls, but Jaeven hadn't met any yet. They would probably be cool too. He rode a lot at home, but was disappointed that there weren't any horses here. There were a lot of cats, though, which almost made up for it. Jae's aunt had promised that he could have a cat of his very own for his twelfth birthday though, and that was only a few weeks away, so it was good. It was nice to be able to play with this cat right now, though.
Jae heard footsteps and looked up at the person approaching him with a huge grin. "Hi! Is this your kitty? He's nice. I'm Jae. What's his name?"\n\n

The library had become Hannah's favorite place in the school with its enourmous collection of books. Hannah loved to read. Unfortunately, Abby tended to get bored and go missing.
When Hannah finished reading the paragraph she was on, she looked to make sure her kitten was still there. Unfortunately, not. Glancing around, she quickly realized the cat had wandered off. Uncurling her legs from beneath her small frame, Hannah got up and began wandering around the library, tripping slightly on her robes. Her mother insisted she get a longer length, because she would 'grow into them.'
Frustrated, Hannah took off her robes. Underneath, she had on a pair of flared jeans and a simple dark green v-neck shirt that brought out the green in her eyes. Her long blonde hair was pulled back from her face by a clip, but several strands had come loose to frame her heart-shaped face.
After a few minutes, Hannah finally found her near an unfamiliar boy.
As she got closer, he said, 'Hi! Is this your kitty? He's nice. I'm Jae. What's his name?'
Hannah grinned at the boy, "Her name is Abby, short for Abigail."
She scratched her kitten's head and she began to purr.
"Thanks for finding her. I'm Hannah," she said.\n\n
The kitty's mom was here. Her name was Hannah. The cat's name was Abby, which was an okay name for a cat. If Jae ever got a cat, he would name it something really cool. Like...like...he wasn't sure. But it would be really cool, he knew that much.
"Hi Hannah!" he chirped, still grinning. "I might get a cat for my birthday. It's in..." Jae thought a moment, counted on his fingers, then nodded. "It's in two weeks and three days. The sixteenth of October."
Jae looked at the girl, who was still standing. "Do you want to sit down? There's this book with madcool pictures, and we could talk about classes and stuff. And I could play with Abby, if it's okay with you."
He really liked animals, and he really liked people too. He was really looking forward to the class Saul had called Comec, where they got to take care of magical animals. The other class Saul had told him about, Dayda, didn't sound nearly as fun. Saul had also told him not to play with the wandstick currently stuck behind his ear, and Jae had tried very hard to listen to the older boy. Sometimes he even forgot the wandstick was up there.\n\n
