Teppenpaw Tryouts by Bri Thornton, Assistant Captain, Seeker
Laurie had asked Brielle to run the tryouts this year. The new fifth year was very nervous about it. Sure, she knew as the assistant she would have to take over when Laurie graduated, but she wasn’t planning on having to almost completely take over this soon! She wasn’t sure why he wasn’t going to be able to make it, but she didn’t think it was her job to ask him what his reasoning was. She’d seen him the day before she’d gotten asked, and he didn’t look so good, so the Assistant Captain assumed he was asking her because he was ill. She didn’t want to push it, she just wanted to be sure that the tryouts ran okay and that Teppenpaw had a team to play with.Brielle walked down to the Pitch an hour before their tryouts were to begin, dragging the trunk of Teppenpaw’s Quidditch Gear along with her. The Signup sheet was also with her, and she’d been slightly depressed to see that only herself, her two cousins and Carter were signed up other than Laurie. It worried her that they wouldn’t have a full team, and she really hoped that there would be some walk ons!
She set up a small table for water, just in case, as her older sister had suggested. She wasn’t planning anything nearly as drastic as her sister had done with Pecari, but that didn’t mean that she wanted her team to end up dehydrated! She heard footsteps and turned to see who it was. She waved to them and smiled. “Hey! How are you? Hope you’re doing okay!” she started, as more footsteps showed the arrival of more teammates.
When it looked as if everyone was there, she gave a few minutes extra for any others to show up. “We’re just going to wait a few more minutes to be sure that everyone who wants to attend our tryouts are here. I’m Aubrielle Thornton, this years Assistant Captain. Laurie has asked me to stand in for him today and take care of tryouts. So, those of you who’ve been on the team before, welcome back, and those who are here for the first time, welcome!” she started. “I’d like for everyone who’d been on the team before, Rina, Mitri, Carter, go ahead and take a flight lap or two to warm up, while I speak to the others.” she said to her cousins and Carter.
Bri sent the three of them off for their lap and looked around to the others. “The rest of you, please introduce yourselves and tell me what position you’d like to play.” she said to anyone who was left.
OOC: If there are no walkons (which I REALY hope there are!) just assume that Bri flew off with the others for her own lap around the Pitch until someone else turned up! Remember, all rules apply, at each post should be at least 200 words! Be creative and lets see what you can all come up with!
