Dear Professor Skies,Our mutual acquaintance, Mary Brooding wrote to me about your interest in making contact with a veela who may be able to assist with one of your students. Mary didn't say too much - I think she wanted to let you explain! - but she suggested you have a young female student who is just coming into her identity as a veela and may benefit from speaking with someone with experience in that area.
I'm not sure how much Mary told you about me already, so allow me to introduce myself. Mary and I met a few years after she'd graduated from Sonora, when we were on a trip together with my fiance at the time, Jeremy. Now my husband, Jeremy is also a potionsmaster and he and Mary had met some time before that. Jeremy does not have any veela in him, so our recently born daughter, Eliza, is half-veela.
Motherhood has been a pleasure, and also exhausting! I can't imagine how you care for a whole castle full of kiddos. Still, Eliza is my pride and joy, and it's been beautiful to watch her grow. She'll be two this coming summer. My own mother was a veela and my father was the son of one, so I grew up fairly immersed in the implications of that, and was well-equipped to handle my becoming a mature woman and veela.
