Lesson two, first years by Professor Zephyrflame

Sweeping the floor was not what Alexander had in mind on the first day of the week.

Alexander had lots of paperwork to settle during the weekend, and so did not go out of his living quarters a lot. He usually spent his time doing four things over the weekend: reading, writing, sleeping and eating. He almost had no time to prepare a class.

Alexander was brainstorming for a lesson plan when the students came flowing in. Watching them settle down, Alexander knew that it was lesson time.

He walked to the front of the classroom, his brain still furiously brainstorming for ideas.

Alexander spent quite a lot of time clearing his throat, obviously stalling for time. When he knew that stalling any further wouls result in more awkward stares, he began speaking what he had made up earlier.

"Good afternoon, I hope you had a good weekend?" he said. He looked around the classroom and spotted the classroom bookshelves. He suddenly had a lesson plan build in his head.

"There are some books over there," Alexander said, gesturing with his hand towards the back of the classroom. "I want you to pick a book, select a spell from inside there and learn it by next week's lesson. You may choose either an offensive or defensive spell."

Surprised that his speech went well, with no interruptions so far, Alexander said the three magic words, the three magic words that started lots of incessant chattering and running around the classroom.

"You may begin."

While the students were running around while the incessant chattering was going on, Alexander took out a roll of parchment and started on the next week's lesson, just in case he has another paperwork weekend in store for him.

Dalila Bastet

At least it's not an essay by Dalila Bastet

Dalila seated herself in the middle of the classroom. She like being surrounded by people. But she also liked to stand out, which was why her hair no longer had platinum streaks in it, but her favorite color: bright orange. She grinned at the thought. She wasn't much of reader, but some of those books in the library were pretty interesting. Especially when she now knows how to change her hair color whenever she feels like it.

She only half-listened to Professor Zephyrflame, but rose with the rest of the class to grab a book from behind. She pulled a random one from te shelf and sat back down. It was rather old; the deep purple leather was faded and the pages were stained with...something. But the letteringsatood out clear as crystal.

Practical Offensive Spells and their Defensive Counterparts

She flipped through the pages looking for anything remotely interesting and spotted something in the exact midlle of the book.

"Hmm...expelliarmus?" Dalila looked around the class. Some students had already decided on what spells to learn and were beginning to practice. She shrugged her shoulders. "Why not?" she asked herself as she got up.

With her nose still pressed into the book she raised her wand and imitated the movements that were in the book as she stated the spell. A book that someone had left on the table threw itself across the room. She looked up and frowned. Setting the book down, she concentrated with all her might and repeated the incantation at a random person across the room. Nothing. This was going to ber harder than she thought.

Pointing her wand to another random person she yelled out 'Expelliarmus!' once again. The girl she was pointing at didn't even flinched, but a person a few feet from where Dalila stood had a shocked expression on their face as their wand flew into the air and clattered at her feet.

"Yikes! I'm so sorry. I really didn't mean to disarm you...well, I kind of did, but not you. Yeah, so anyways, here's your wand back." She picked up the wand from the floor and held it out.\n\n
