Fifth and Sixth Years by Headmaster Brockert

It seemed like the end of the year tended to involve more talking to students than the beginning of it. Not that Mortimer ever said much when he did. Really, all he had to ever do was instruct them on whatever the task at hand was. Most of the year though, he tended to just do administrative stuff, deal with the board-which was it's own headache-and whatnot.

Unfortunately, part of his duties as Headmaster did involve things he disliked doing. Tedious, irritating things, like making the announcements at feasts and midsummer events. It was best when he didn't have to say much beyond welcoming people and announcing prefects. Granted, these small annoyances were worth it to have more power. Not that as a Brockert, Mortimer didn't have plenty, but being Headmaster gave him even more.

Today the fifth and sixth years had been summoned to Cascade Hall for Head Student voting, something that they should have figured out by now was the reason. Despite that, Mortimer felt the need to state the obvious. "You have been called here today to vote for Head Student. Please vote for whom you genuinely think would do a good job."
