Multi-tasking by Elly Eriksson

There were some people who had just one idea and could see it through before they got their second idea. There were some people who had lots of ideas at once, but could sort them out into a logical order and deal with them individually. Then there were some people who had lots of ideas, and tried to deal with them all at the same time; Elly Eriksson fell into this last category. So it was that she sat in the Diner one lunchtime, engrossed in her multi-tasking. The sports section of the Prophet was laid out infornt of her: the line-up for the qualifyier games for the next Quidditch season had been announced, and Elly was reading it avidly. In her left hand she clutched a cheese sandwich, that she was eating while her attention was on the paper. Her right hand was involved in another task altogether, holding her wand and rotating it in continuous circles while an incredibly long length of white ribbon span intself into a neat ball.

Finishing her sandwich, Elly reached for her goblet and drained it. She placed down the empty vessel, and started munching on her second sandwich. She continued in this manner for a few minutes more until she became aware that someone was trying to get her attention. "What?" Elly said, and in doing so she forgot to move her wand. The ribbon ball fell from its suspended position in midair and started to unravel as it fell to the floor. "Drat," Elly said distractedly, picking up the ball and depositing her sandwich back on the plate. "Doing too much at once," she muttered to herself.
