Don't mind me... by Earl Valentine

Earl managed to get to the Crotalus commob room without much problem. He ran up the boys staircase to the room marked SECOND YEAR BOYS written on a silver plaque, which he found weird considering he was the only second year boy in Crotalus. It should just be labeled "EARL'S ROOM".

He wretched open the door and headed to his bedside table where he kept all of his drawing material. He got out a pad of paper, a few pencils and some tape. He wrote something quickly on a piece of spare parchment and rushed out the door again, taping the parchment on the door over the silver plaque before walking down to the common room.

EARL'S ROOM the door now stated. That was better.

He found an overstuffed red chair over by a window. There was no one in the common room besides two people over on the other side talking, and the people walking in and out, paying no attention to who was there.

He tapped his pencil on the pad of paper wondering what pictures he draw for Eavan. How about the grounds? That was a good idea. He began to sketch the rough outline of the Spanish-style accomidations. He was well into his work when a shadow fell over his work in progress. He hastily closed his drawing pad, not wanting anyone at Sonora to see his drawings.

OOC- I'm sorry, but you need to work on the accuracy of your posts. Basically, you're a first year. There actually are 3 Crotalus second year boys, so don't forget what year you're in.

Meet and Greet by Arixios Jackel

Eyes glided over the common room in a casual sweep and stopped suddenly on a lone figure residing in one of the common room's arm chairs. Apparently someone Arixios didn't know.

How interesting.

It being, of course, the only polite thing to do he made his way over to the other boy in order to introduce himself.
Arixios was especially intrigued as he noted the closed sketchbook on the other's lap.

Arixios didn't dwell long on it however and, sending a polite smile to the other boy he pointed slightly at an adjacent arm-chair, "mind if I sit?"\n\n

"Mind if I sit?"

It was probably more of a nicety than an actual question, but Earl answered it anyway, not exactly knowing the subtle nuances that people can create. Earl wasn't known for his refined taste and manners. He shrugged as he tried sliding his sketchbook out of sight.

"Sure. It's a free country last time I checked." Earl had successfully hidden the notepad from view and felt a bit more comfortable around the boy. He hadn't met any Crotalus boys yet, considering he was the only boy in his year. Earl held out the hand that was not conceleing the drawings.

"Hi! I'm Earl Valentine. Nice to meet another Crotalus boy. Not many of us, are there?"\n\n

Taking the proffered hand and giving it a firm shake Arixios took the offered seat and repeated the habitual greeting - past time to relax in his opinion. The new-comers had been busy creating factions all day and, although very amusing to watch, it did get rather tiring after awhile.

He smirked to himself, remembering his year's first days at Sonora. As usual, quite the circus. Ari remembered clearly the animosity that had originally persisted between various groups or rather, between TJ and everyone else.

Peace had eventually been acheived and all was well. Arixios now understood why they had first years.

Mentally berating himself on allowing distractions Ari offered an apologetic smile to grace his features momentarily, "Indeed, there are only few - however if you view that as a good or a bad thing my friend, is entirely up to a person's point of view."

Earl made something between a grin and a grimace. Although, he knew exactly what the boy was talking bout about- and it was rather funny- he hadn't gottent othat stage in his life and still having trouble with being friends with a girl, let alone anything else.

He tried to hide his lack of comfort on the subject by laughing a little too loudly to be considered real, and quickly changing the subject. "So..." Earl tried to think of something. He stared at the boy and an idea popped into his head. "I don't even know your name. I'm pretty sure I told you mine." He sat and pondered it for a second before shrugging to himself and turning to the boy sitting next to him. "So what is it?"\n\n
