Crowds by Jennifer

Jennifer looked around at the throng of students discussing something. SHe didn't know if she wanted to join their conversation or not, but habit kept her sitting where she was, hidden by the shadows.

She recognized most of these people to an extent. YOu couldn't live very long in their world and not know who people like the Mathers or the O'Reillys. However, she didn't know them that well, and she didn't really want to get up and introduce herself. That was too bold.

So she sat, completely unnoticed, sketching aimlessly and half listening to the other's conversation, almost wanting someone to notice her.\n\n

Arixios, while appreciating the conversationalists did have to admit that their little, "conversation" was getting slightly tedious.

Making for the door with all intents of making a quick exit he suddenly spotted a loner sitting over in the corner of their common room.

Now changing course for her direction he leaned against the back of her armchair and looked over her shoulder.

A lazy smile soon graced his features.

Not wishing to be impolite or possibly frighten the girl Arixios made his way around the chair slowly, drawing her attention away from her sketch-pad for awhile.

"Hello madam. My name is Arixios."

A breif pause ensued. Gesturing to the sketch-book in her lap he continued, smile still evident, "Those are pretty accurate representations Miss..."\n\n

Re: sketches by Jennifer

"Jennifer Zucchero." she finished for him. She looked up at the boy who had interrupted her, and smiled shyly. She too looked down at her sketches of a few of the people and objects she had been doodling.

"Thank you," she replied, softly. "It's the only artistic trick that I could ever pick up. I used to stay all over the world with my father, and while he would be at meetings I would go wander around and draw things."

Those had been some of the best times of her life. However, everything had changed. Her father and her were still very close, but she never saw him anymore. Her mother had decided that his life as an ambassador, with all the traveling to exotic places, was too hectic for a 'young lady,' and so she was forced to stay with her mother in one of their many estates, and be locked up in the house.

She told herself that she really didn't need to go far in that train of thought, and she looked back up at Arixios. She thought she recognized the name, as it was very unusual, but she never really paid attention when being introduced to people.

"Do you like to draw, or do anything like that?" she asked him. "And, if you don't mind my asking, where are you from? I can't place your accent."\n\n

Zucchero... by Arixios Jackel

Arixios felt his eyebrows raise involuntarily at the comment about, "his accent" and wondered how he would respond.

Smirking he replied, "Well Ms. Zucchero - Jennifer. I must say I was not aware that I did have an accent."

"How foolish of me not to notice."

Waiting for her reaction to his words Arixios decided to take a seat.

This was proving to be quite an interesting conversation after all. Well, well, well...

Realizing he hadn't answered her other question he smiled apologetically.

"I don't draw, no. My mother did however, quite a lot actually. She wasn't bad."

Arixios once again appraised the girl now sitting opposite him. He didn't know her too well but judging from what he'd seen she deserved atleast some credit.

There weren't many he wouldn't form an opinion of after just glancing at them - a conversation such as this was rare.

Arixios found to his delight that he was quite enjoying speaking with Jennifer.

That was even more so.

Jackel... by Jennifer

Jennifer raised her eyebrows slightly also. THis boy, Arixios, was exceedingly good at avoiding answering. This could be fun.

"Well, most people don't notice, but everyone has one, no matter how slight." she admitted. "In fact, you can look to one of the places where an accent is most obvious, like, persay, Texas, and they still deny that they are in possession of one. But everyone has one, no matter how slight. So, to me, yours is quite obvious."

Jennifer then turned back down to her tablet. Arixios seemed nice enough. A bit like hte kind who enjoyed dodging having to answer questions, but there was nothing wrong with that. She had done it often enough herself. Settling herself in the cushions, she waited for his response. She hoped that he wouldn't disappoint her, and give in.
