Dinner time in Pecari Commons by Saul Pierce

Saul was bored. He wasn't entirely sure where Grim or Ginger or Celia or Michael or any of the other first years were (and it made him a little nervous that maybe he was forgetting about some class that had been introduced after midterm) but they weren't in the boys first year dorm and they weren't in Common Room. In fact, Pecari seemed oddly quiet this afternoon.

He'd finished his essay about wit-sharpening potion a few minutes ago, and the textbook he'd snagged out of an unlabelled bag was satisfactorily closed and placed on the coffee table in front of him, ready for someone else to use.

With nothing else to do right now, he decided to try out that corridor ride thing that one of the older kids had recommended during the This-Is-Your-House Speech. He put away his assignment into the bag clearly designated as "SAUL'S" in large bright yellow letters. He set it on the couch with his name facing out so nobody would claim it, then ran at the girl's corridor as the older boy had demonstrated.

Peacenlove (owl)

Tidings of joy by Peacenlove (owl)

Peacenlove was getting irritated. Her name might imply, well, peace and love, but she wasn't feeling any towards Master Saul at the current moment. She'd been waiting in the Cascade Hall for half an hour and did the young master deign to come eat with his fellow classmates? Of course not. Finally fed up with waiting and more than a little hungry what with all the smells of dinner wafting over to her, she went in search of the recalcitrant boy.

Ah yes. There he was. Smacking down hard on his bum on the floor of the Common Room and laughing like it was all great fun. Peacenlove landed on the nearest couch arm and hooted in annoyance.

"Oh, heya, Peacie," Saul greeted with unfanthonable cheerfulness for a human child who had just missed his dinner. "Whatcha got there?"

Well, obviously it was a letter. Why else would Peacenlove be here? It clearly didn't look like a package. Still, she offered over the letter and he was kind enough to find some food in one of his pockets for her.

It was a chocolated bar. She accepted the offering eagerly, forgiving all his past transgressions. While it wasn't exactly an owl treat, it was the next best thing and infinitely superior to that tofu stuff the rest of the family liked to hand out. She gleefully munched down on the candy while Saul read the missive that came direct from Regina herself.

Just as some of the other students returned to the common room from dinner, Saul reached the announcement that was the purpose of the letter.

"Holy Macaroni and Pepperoni Pizza! George H is my Uncle!"\n\n
