Yay, comfy sofas to replace the hard benches! [TAG Krisalyn] by Andrew Tudor

Once everything was out the way with the questions directed towards the prefect, Andrew looked over at Krisalyn and indicated over to the comfy chairs in the corner, away from all the manic noise. As he sat down he was amazed by the sheer size of the common room. How was it kept concealed from everyone who wasn't in Teppenpaw? It was simply amazing, and even that term didn't do it justice. He began thinking about the general size of the whole academy and just thinking about it made his brain hurt. His old school was so small in comparison... Everything he knew was so small in comparison! He thought back to his old house in Oxford. A prang of home sickness overcame him, which was soon replaced with utter sadness. He now only had pictures and memories to go by as the house was no longer his and as far as he was concerned he had no home anymore. He hadn't even seen his "new" house, he couldn't even write a letter to his mother as she never gave him an address. 'It obviously just slipped her mind,' he thought, 'I'll just have to wait until she sends me a letter...' He sighed, unsure of how he was supposed to feel.

Running his fingers through his messy hair he yawned, suddenly tired. His brown eyes watered, which was natural when he yawned. He shook his head in an attempt to wake up. "So... T-this is home now."

Ahh, the relaxation. by Krisalyn Koli

Krisalyn bounced on the balls of her feet, excited and happy to finally be in the common room, and actually able to look around and check it out. She grinned when Andrew motioned to the nice and squishy looking armchairs in a corner, yet homes, whatstill near the fire. She curled her legs up under her, putting her chin on her hands, just looking. She loved the decor and feel of the room, and wondered if the beds would even compare to the chair she was rested in. She wondered just how many people actually went to Sonora, and then thought the number of people residing in the extremely large building. She compared it to the number of students at her old and remote school in rural Vermont, and nearly gasped. The people had at LEAST quadrupled in size.

Krisalyn looked up when Andrew yawned, feeling herself copy the action. Her mother had once told her that yawning was passed from mind to mind, and was contagious. Her eyes were wet, and she wiped the back of her hand across them, stopping the flow. She watched as Andrew shook his head, and tuned her ears to listen as he mumbled, "So this is home now."

Krisalyn smiled in return to his comment. "I guess so," she replied bringing her knees up to her chest, and resting her head on top. She stared in to the fire for a moment, before adding, "At least it's nice and warm and beautiful though. Of all of the places I could be, I'm glad it's here." The young witch had been in plenty worse with her large family and single 'mom'. 'Actually,' she mused silently, 'this is probably the nicest place I've ever lived.' And it was more than nice. Sonora was spacious, beautiful, welcoming, and homey. Not to mention exciting. Suddenly Krisalyn's injured toe, the one she had banged on the bench, throbbed, and she brought her hand down to clutch it absent mindedly.

Yeah, how long will that last I wonder XD by Andrew Tudor

Andrew watching as Krisalyn brought her knees up to her chin, slightly amazed at how girls can do that so easily. His sister sits like it all the time, but all Andrew could really do was slouch, sit upright or lean back in his chair. He wasn't even going to attempt leaning back in the armchair he was sat in now, it was far too large so would just be stupid and end in an accident. Instead, he just pushed himself back into the seat and sank slowly into the thick cushions as he tried to get comfortable, which wasn't hard. He'd never sat in such a comfy chair. He cocked his head slightly to the side as he was listening to Krisalyn and agreed with her observations. He gazed slowly round the room, taking in every ounce of detail and decor. It was definitely very pretty, much prettier than anywhere else he had ever been able to call 'home'.

"This is probably the nicest place I've ever lived," Krisalyn said and Andrew nodded in an absent minded way, wondering what her house in Vermont was like. He briefly tried to compare his old home to Sonora, but there was too much to compare as they were so different it was just too hard.

"I think I-I could agree with you... I still l-like my old home though," he smiled at her, "I wonder if m-my new house is nice?" he thought back to the poor quality pictures his mother had showed him, but couldn't remember what everything looked like. It was all a bit plain, if he remembered anything about it at all. Interested in what Krisalyn's house was like, he opened his mouth to ask when she grabbed her foot suddenly as though in pain. "Are you okay?" he asked, shocked and slightly worried. "What have you d-done to your, uh, foot toe thing?"

Yeah, probably not too long! by Krisalyn

Krisalyn watched as Andrew agreed with her about the quality of their former homes. Her house in Vermont was of middle-class quality, but had only three bedrooms, and when you have four children, that definitely becomes a problem. Krisalyn often wondered why her mom had adopted and actually kept her when it was already a problem to support her three true boys. When she had asked her mom, however, she just said that she would never leave her and that her daughter was the best thing to happen to their family. Krisalyn actually wasn't looking for such a sappy response, and just a common answer, but that worked too. Pretty much the only thing that she didn't like about having such a large family was that the she had to share a bedroom with her only older brother. It was a nightmare. 'But now I'm here where I have girls in my room to talk to, and although I have to share my quarters with them, it's not quite the same.'

"I'm sure that your mom wouldn't let you and your sister live in a bad home," she consoled Andrew, and added, smiling "After all, if you get your manners from her, then she must be a very nice person."

Krisalyn was flattered when Andrew noticed that her toe was in pain, only reassuring her that he would make a great friend. "Oh, it's nothing, really. I just tripped over a bench in the Cascade Hall while we were leaving. I'm really used to it though, I'm EXTREMELY clumsy!"

We'll see = ] by Andrew Tudor

Andrew smiled at Krisalyn. He too was sort of clumsy, well at least his mother used to tell him he was. He thought it was down to nerves more than anything, for instance he'd be holding something mildly precious and someone would make a loud noise, causing him to drop whatever he was holding. He learnt quite quickly not to be trusted with things like that and his mother had given up with ornaments and such like.

"There's nothing wrong with being c-clumsy," Andrew said in an almost reassuring tone, "I-I'm slightly, uh, clumsy too but n-not to the extent y-you seem to be!" He grinned.

He thought back to what Krisalyn had said about him perhaps getting his manners from his mother and blushed slightly. Oddly, his mother was quite rude but she had taught him to be polite. It helped that he was quiet as that made him appear courties too. He didn't live in a bad home, on the contary, it just wasn't good either. He and his sister used to keep themselves to themselves, or they'd go round friend's houses. 'Perhaps that is why we're so close?' he wondered. He looked up at his new friend and smiled again.

"So, seems l-like you're going t-to make lots of friends i-in your quaters. There are q-quite a few girls and v-very little boys!" He laughed quietly. In comparison to Krisalyn's sleeping arrangements, Andrew was worried he'd be the only boy in his room. He hadn't yet met any others, or seen any. He scanned the room again, probably just neglecting to see any male life and sighed. "Never mind though." he chirped, almost unfased by the lack of boys. It was true, he got on well with girls and thus he wouldn't be totally lonely. 'It would be nice to have some male friends as well though' he though to himself.
