Yay! Kitsune! (Fox) [Tag:Anyone!] by Hikaru

Hikaru smiled as his godfathers owl left with the basket in tow. His new fox was a tiny little thing with gray/black fur and it had very interesting markings. It had tiny little brown eyes that Hikaru thought were the most adorable things ever! He had decided himself I think I'll name him Aisu! Thats a cool name! Hikaru hugged Aisu a little more and brushed him carefully with a new comb.

He looked around for people he knew around the Common Room and sighed Why is it that no one wants to talk to me? He walked over to the Quidditich Sign-Up board and tried to find somewhere that would hint at when practices were. He walked back over to the couch he was sitting on and opened up his notebook. He looked through and tried to find some low-level spells he could work on to use up time and didn't find one! Aisu looked up at him and licked his hand, Hikaru sighed to himself I wish Riley was here! Then we could talk and laugh, and... He sighed once more and looked around the room for someone, anyone?\n\n

Cool! by Dalila Bastet

Dalila trudged into the common room after a long. hard workout on the Quidditch pitch. She collapsed on the nearest couch in the common room without glancing around and layed her arms over her eyes to block out the light coming in from the magicked windows. She lay there for a few moments trying to slepp, but something was bugging her. Why was she out there anyways? To practice? Of course; but there was really no need to go out there by herself. She was good and hadn't faultered enough to require extra practice. Dalila menatally shrugged. Thses thoughts were adding pain to her already throbbing temples.

She sighed and sat up. The sweat on her body was drying up and she felt absolutely disgusting. A shower and a change of clothes was going to make her fell much better. Dalila stood up and finally noticed that she wasn't alone in the room. There was a boy: first year from the looks of it, with something furry next to him and a notebook in his lap. Curiosity won her over, and Dalila made her way to the boy to get a better look at the animal. Upon closer inspection, she realized what the furry creature was.

"Is that a fox?" she asked, getting excited over the prospect of there being a actual fox sitting three feet from her.\n\n

Yay! Someone is talking to me! by Hikaru

Hikaru looked up at the girl who just asked him "Is that a fox?" he nodded "Yep, his name is Aisu..." he was just about to ask if she wanted to hold him when Aisu jumped out of his arms and stared up at her. The fox blinked a few times and licked the girls face then proceded to sit in her lap.

Hikaru laughed a little, this was a usual ritual when kitsunees (foxes) were attempting to meet someone. He smiled at the girl "Hi, I'm Hikaru Kasuragi, a first year...whats your name?" he asked her curiously. She seemed like a very interesting person and Hikaru really wanted to know why she looked so exhausted "You seem tired, are you okay?"\n\n

Yay! I talk to everybody! by Dalila

"Aisu..." Dalila repeated, liking the sound of the fox's name. "Hey, is that Japanese?" she asked and was about to tell him all about Hyana, when Aisu jumped up to lick her face and then sit in her lap. Dalila shrieked and then giggled.

"Friendly little thing, isn't he? Aisu seems born to be a Tepp." she said when the fox had settled down again. She stroked the fox's fur happily, thinking that her mother would be extremely jealous of her right now when the boy introduced himself and then asked if she were okay.

"Dalila Bastet at your service," she grinned at him before adding "fourth year, and I'm great. Just tired after some Quidditch practice. You like Quidditch?" Of course the answer would be 'yes' because everybody likes Quidditch, but it was only nice to ask first.

Cool! I'm on the Quidditch Team Reserves! by Hikaru

Hikaru nodded at her question "Yep, I'm 1/2 Japanese and 1/2 American...It means Ice." He laughed when she shrieked and giggled at Aisu "Yep, hes a Teppenpaw alright! I don't think I'm really good to be in this house do to some, umm...events."

Aisu really seemed to like this girl and Hikaru was happy for her, he remembered his first experience with a fox and sighed to himself, it had been an extremely comical event. He sighed as he looked at the spots were his tattooes used to be and saw only the marks the Remover Kit had made! Gosh that had hurt like murder!

Hikaru nodded at Dalila and smiled back "It's an honor to meet you Dalila." he listened to her explanation about Quidditch practice and beamed at her "I love Quidditch! I got excepted as an alternate Chaser! Go me!" he asked her curiously "What postition do you play?" she seemed really cool and he wanted to know upper classmen as well!\n\n

Professor Deck and Twitch

Not so divine intervention. by Professor Deck and Twitch

This far into the year, very few students took note of the small gray cat who perched, alert, on one of the lesser-used bookshelves in the Teppenpaw common room. That's the way Twitch preferred it; from here, the cat could keep an eye on things. This was his Domain, and he didn't like these--these children--interfering with his rule of it. Of course, he would submit to an occasional petting, as long as the child in question met his stringent requirements, which included a lack of anything sticky on his or her hands, and no penchant for pulling tails or ears.

Generally his Domain was a quiet, happy one, usually populated by children who amused themselves or one another. Occasionally it broke out into something more raucous, in which case Twitch more often than not would retreat to the untidy office attached to his Domain, where his chamberlain kept court.

Never before, however, had such an offensive odor met his sensitive nose. It belonged to no animal he could name--neither child nor adult nor cat nor Kneazel nor Crup nor... well. Nothing he could name. His hair rose marginally, making the small cat appear a little bit larger; after grooming his whiskers once to make sure they were in order, he leapt down from his perch and began to follow the offending smell.

There! It was coming from that nasty child who had infected his chamberlain's office. No... not the child. The ball of white fur in his arms. Hissing lightly, Twitch backed away and then fled into the office, caterwauling abrasively to get his chamberlain's attention.

The man was, as usual, immediately attentive to his liege's desires. He lifted the cat into his arms and scratched that spot under his chin. "Here now, beastie, what's wrong?"

Twitch yowled again and struggled free of his chamberlain's grasp, landing with his usual grace (though he couldn't for any of his nine lives explain why the man then began to laugh). Meowing irritably the whole way, the cat lead the chamberlain out into his Domain and straight to the nasty child and its abomination of a pet.

Although he'd been amused by Twitch's antics at first, the amused smile soon slid quickly off Declan Chatterjee's face as he spotted Hikaru Kasuragi chatting amiably with Dalila Bastet, a member of the House team. It wasn't that which caused the reaction, though--no, it was what Hikaru held, and what lay before him.

"Mr. Kasuragi!" he barked, his face unwontedly stern. The common room seemed to go quiet; the Teppenpaws were used to their Head of House being genial and helpful, not severe like he was now. Deck, for his part, was too dumbfounded by what he saw to even take this into consideration. "My office now, if you would be so kind. Bring the fox--and the notebook." After a moment's hesitation, Deck shifted his gaze to Dalila. "It's good to see you keeping in shape for the upcoming season, Dalila. Best of luck to you." As he could manage nothing friendlier, Deck left it at that and looked again at Hikaru. "Well, Mr. Kasuragi? Now, if you please."

Without waiting, Declan swept back towards his office, the expression on his face landing somewhere between thunderous and thunderstruck. Behind him, prancing smugly, followed Twitch.

"And close the door behind you."\n\n

Really? Sweet. by Dalila

Dalila scratched Aisu under his chin, which he seemed to like. She grinned when he said he liked Quidditch, but looked up in shock when he said he was an alternate Chaser.

"Really? I didn't even know the list was out. Cool! Congrats. I'm a chaser myself," Dalila stated proudly. "Have you played much before?" Dalila was curious about how the boy who might replace her if she were unable to play might do on the field.

She continued petting Aisu methodically. It was very comforting to pet something soft and cute, and it made Dalila wonder where her own cute, furry pet was. Nut had tendencies to spend time chasing gnomes in the Labyrinth Gardens, only coming back for food. Dalila sometimes missed her company. She sighed and picked up the fox for a hug.\n\n

Oh, goody... by Hikaru Kasuragi

Hikaru twitched when Professor Deck shouted at him and he quietly thought to himself I honestly wish I could crawl into a hole and die right now... he turned around and faced the oh, sooooo angry Profesor. He stood up and brought the notebook with him mouthing to Dalila Sorry He really didn't want to go into that office and get yelled at and he especially didn't want to get Aisu taken away from him.

He closed the notebook as he was walking past the Professor. He glared at the cat as it was staring at him, he was not in the mood and Aisu glared at it with its beady, brown eyes. He sat in the seat and awaited his berating, oh why him. These have been the best and worst days of my entire life...now this happens, great \n\n

Couldn't have said it better myself. by Professor Deck

By the time Hikaru came into the office, Deck had control of his emotions again, and regretted overreacting like that. Still... he'd never expected to have a problem like this with one of his Teppenpaws. "Sit down, Hikaru," he invited, his voice back to its usual soft tones, though there was an edge of sternness hidden somewhere within.

"I'm concerned about you, Hikaru," he said after a minute. "I tried, when Professor McKindy brought you to see me, to explain that this school has rules and they must be adhered to. Was I not clear enough? The school rules clearly state that, while students are welcome to bring their pets with them, they must be approved by the headmaster. I certainly would have been informed if he had decided to allow a fox into the Teppenpaw dormitories.

"And this notebook... I confiscated one. That should have been an indicator to you that collecting potentially harmful spells outside of classwork is not going to be put up with here at Sonora. And yet after having it your first confiscated, you begin another one?" Declan looked at the boy, his brows knotted in an expression of mingled frustration and discontent. "I'm disappointed."

After a few moments, Declan shook his head. "What do you have to say for yourself?"\n\n

Probably So.... by Hikaru

Hikaru nodded when the Professor told him to sit down and spoke in a calm voice "Thank you..."

He sat in the chair and Aisu snuggled up into a ball and started breathing slowly, Hikaru realized that his fox had fallen asleep. He listened to his Head of Houses explanation of the rules and thought Maybe I should have gotten permission from the Headmaster...but Aisu hasn't caused any trouble so far...

Hikaru sighed more to himself than anything else "I am truly sorry sir that these actions have had to come into play, its just that I've missed having a fox around with me and I know that they aren't dimesticated animals but, this one is still house trained...but I do see the problem and I am sorry." He really was but he didn't want them to take Aisu from him!

He took a deep breathe and continued on "These are not really dangerous charms, they are basic spells I found in the First year book of spells, but I do see your problem with me recording them but the most dangerous thing I found was the Full Body Bind Curse, I am sorry if I sound offensive and ignorant towards you." he closed his eyes "I always dreamed of coming here and I thought that maybe I could be a good student but it seems that all I am is an attention seeking fool...whatever the consequences whether it be detention, my fox and spells taken away, anything at all, I will accept what you decide because I want to be a trustworthy student."

He politely waited for Professor Decks response while stroking Aisus delicate form.\n\n

Professor Deck

*Sigh* by Professor Deck

Deck felt his resolve weakening in the face of the boy's contrition, despite the fact that Hikaru still managed to insert an unconscious amount of impudence into his words. Damn you for a soft-hearted fool, Declan Chatterjee, he thought dismally. This was probably why his cousins' children liked him so much more than even their proper aunts and uncles.

Exhaling gustily, he leaned forward and picked the notebook up again. A suitably tense silence fell over the office as Deck thumbed through the pages, looking at each and every spell. When, by the tenth page, he'd found nothing too dangerous, he glanced up at Hikaru and the fox, sighed again, and continued looking. After a few minutes, he reached the last page, closed the notebook, and tossed it back across the desk so it skidded neatly to a stop in front of Hikaru. "That," he said, "you may keep, as long as you swear on--"

He hesitated. "On your attendance here at Sonora," he finished the sentence solemnly. He himself didn't have the ability to expel students, even though an individual child's Head of House had some say in the matter, but Hikaru wouldn't know that; and anyway, if the boy had dreamed so much of coming here, he'd consider that tantamount to a sacred oath. "Swear on your attendance here at Sonora, Hikaru, that you will not collect, use or share any hexes, jinxes, or curses that are not fully approved by a professor and meant to be used solely in an academic climate.

"Unfortunatelys, though, the rules are clear when it comes to your fox there. All unapproved pets are to be turned over into the keeping of the Care of Magical Creatures professor, Miss Kijewski. From there on, it's out of my hands and up to Professor Kijewski and Headmaster Bulla."\n\n

I do agree by Hikaru Kasuragi

Hikarus eyes widened at Professor Decks question I just have to not use any unaproved hexes? Hikaru sighed and nodded "I understand Professor and swear that I will not use any spells that I don't have permission to use."

Hikaru thought about what he said about Aisu and wondered So I just have to leave him with Professor Kiva? That is...suitable Hikaru stood and faced his Professor "Thank you Professor for your kindness, I do appreitiate it and I'll be turning Aisu over to Professor Kiva in a little while." he bowed to his Professor "I am sorry to have disturbed you Professor," He faced him and nodded slightly "I know that most Professors would not have been so kind, but I will hold to my oath...I swear it."
