Study Hall [Advanced Students] by Mr. Killian Row

The Advanced students at Sonora Academy of Magic were much more advanced than some of the students Killian Row had had the pleasure of working with or tutoring. Of course, he had specialized mostly in more rural areas until now, and much less in schools of such international reputation. Now, his job was to dig in and run with it.

He had taken to hosting study hall, elective sessions, and any other group meetings in the library. While his office was good for meeting individually or in small groups, it was less well suited to meeting with more than a few students at once, and certainly didn't provide accommodations for any group work he set out for students or they were set for themselves.

This early in the term, Killian wanted to give the students a bit of reprieve. They'd already all been given information about where and how to contact him, and about what sort of things he could do to help along the way, so he wasn't worried about that. This was also the Advanced group, which meant they'd all met him the previous year and most of their questions were anxiety fueled more than anything else. While the younger students usually had some amount of excitement in their eyes, these students had question marks.

Today, they would put that aside for a study hall session that allowed them both the freedom and the structure to work on homework for electives, ask questions, and relax a little bit. Several of them had research projects to do, which was another reason Killian favored the library.

"Hello," Killian smiled at the students as they gathered into the room. He'd reserved a portion of the library where there was a large center table and several smaller tables with chairs nearby, so students doing group work could use that space if they preferred. "You know the drill by now, but let me remind you that this time is not a social hour. We've been having some problems with that, so I want to reiterate that now. However, I also want to make sure you all know that if you do need to talk through something, you can talk to me and I can provide some guided exercises to help you with that, or you can ask me directly."

He smiled impishly at the students and scratched his beard. He was nothing if not easygoing and his cocked grin tended to put others at ease. He leaned back in his own chair and looked around the room.

"Any questions just now? I'll have you go ahead and start on your homework for other classes; Astronomy, Divinations, Ancient Runes, Muggle Studies, etc. If you're taking other electives, you can do that as well. If you don't have any homework for those classes, I have a worksheet here for you to do." He gestured at a pile of papers in front of him. "These are personality questionnaires that you can fill out to get some ideas about who you are, as well as some information on each of the personality tests." It was a modified version of a Muggle personality exam, and one he'd found quite helpful.

"I'll be available if you need me, and walking around every so often. Otherwise, just let me know if you need any help."

OOC -- The test I have in mind is the Enneagram test, and there's a quick version here as well as information about each archetype on that site. You can fill it out in character if you'd like. Just assume Mr. Row has provided an option that's suited to magical people, is gender-neutral, and that even muggle borns would understand.
