Meeting Delany at the alter in the Holy of Holies by Seamus McFarlan

Seamus led the way through the magical door of Aladren into the library. Again, the rows and shelves seemed to vie for his attention. Well, he thought to himself, perhaps this wasn’t such a bad idea.

He was about to head for the front desk to find out where the quidditch section was when something caught his eye. A table in an alcove covered with books and papers called to him. There was room for only one person to sit. Professor K. referred to it as the Prefect Station. Seamus ran his hand along it and the myriad of books covering it. He grinned over at Delany.

“To think, the Head Boy of the whole school set this up. What a wonder it is he’s in our House.” Seamus felt something akin to reverence for a moment. He’d heard stories about Zack. His aunt liked him a lot and had high hopes for him. She’d sent a message along to tell him if he ever got to actually meet him in person. “What do you suppose it takes to get such an honor?”

He walked around to the empty chair. Mr. Dill was probably fielding a bunch of questions from the other first years. What would it hurt if Seamus tried the chair on for size? Resting his fingertips on the edge of the table he lowered himself to sit.

“Sure an’ I can see meself sittin’ here in a few years time.” Seamus leaned back, laced his fingers behind his head and crossed his feet on the edge of the table. “It suits me, don’t ye think?”

Long title. Love it. by Delany

“Sure an’ I can see meself sittin’ here in a few years time.” Seamus leaned back, laced his fingers behind his head and crossed his feet on the edge of the table. “It suits me, don’t ye think?”

Delany laughed as she walked over to Seamus. She watched him as he relaxed in the chair.

"What if Zack comes and see's you in his spot?" She asked as she laughed.

She smiled as Seamus relaxed in the chair. She walked over to the bookshelf and scanned the books on it. Potions for the first year mind. A helpful hints guide. Animals of the magical world and their habitats. Peculair Plants and the reasons for them. A New Theory for the stars Allignment and how you can understand it.

"I think you'd do just fine as a prefect Seamus. Your very nice. That job would suit you." She said.

Delany scanned the shelves and pulled out the, Animals of the Magical worlds and their habitats. She looked through the pages. It was like a dictionary of all the magical animals. Maybe she could learn more about Hippogriffs and why their talons make such a good core for charms. She was determined to find out why her wand, Rowan-and-Hippogriff talon, chose her. She closed the book and placed it under her arm.

"Seamus, what clases are you taking? I'm taking Charms, History of Magic, and Potions. At least I hope to start them soon." Delany said as she walked back over to Seamus. She sat down on the uncovered edge of the table and set the book down on ehr lap, waiting for an answer. She smiled and tucked her hair behind her ears.

I'm never at a loss for words by Seamus

“Oh, if Himself were to appear, I think I might bring tears to his eyes knowin’ his spot is in such good hands once he graduates.” Seamus laughed. He kicked away from the table and got up to explore a few of the titles that lined the shelves. There wasn’t a subject that seamus could think of that didn’t seem to have a whole section devoted to it. He spotted a very worn copy of Quidditch Through the Ages.

“Wow, I’ve been wantin’ t’ read this book. It’s been out o’ print for a long time now and me library t’ home never has it on the shelves.” Quickly snatching it up, he strolled to a different area. The next book to catch his eye was entitled, Prank Charms, Spells and Potions... Impresses Your Friends and Drive Your Enemies Nuts. “I think I’ll be takin’ this too.”

He resumed his comfortable seat at the prefect’s station and began to skim the book about pranks. Delany asked him what classes he was taking. He looked up at her quizzically. She was nice but seemed rather spacey.

“Well, I’ll be takin’ the same classes you are, won’t I?” Seamus replied. “It’s not like first years have that many options.” He looked down at the chapter titles of the prank book. “Listen to this. ‘Turn any goblet into a dribble glass. Conjuring fake krup poo. Turn your victim’s tongue plaid.’ This could be a very useful book in th’ future.”

That's good. keeps a conversation going. by Delany

Delany laughed as Seamus tried to convince her they wouldn't get in trouble for being at the prefect station. It took alot to make Delany laugh. She hated her laugh. All her friends had these big when-they-laugh-they-make-you-laugh laughs. Delany's laugh was tiny. It wasn't exactly bells tinkling, maybe a little louder than that. Delany was suprised that Seamus had made her laugh, and that she was so comfortable around him.

“Wow, I’ve been wantin’ t’ read this book. It’s been out o’ print for a long time now and me library t’ home never has it on the shelves.”

Delany watched as seamus came back and resumed his position in the prefect chair.

"Yeah. your right. And I guess it could be useful...If you like that kinda' stuff." Delany said. "I'm more of a, stick a boggart in your teachers desk...or permantly stick the classes assignment to their desk, kinda stuff. Well, I haven't done that stuff, my brother did. But I'm going to live up to his name." Delany said as she opened up to the hippogriffs page. She peeked up at Seamus and laughed. why was she so comfortable around someone she just met this year?

Especially when you love to hear yourself talk by Seamus

“Oh, I never go after th’ teacher.” Seamus remarked. “If ye do that, then ye have nobody t’ back you up.”

He leaned forward in his chair and gave Delany a conspiratorial wink. “The trick is, you see, to act all innocent and studious ‘round the professors. Then, when you pull something and the victim tries to tattle, ye can look the professor in the eye with an oh-so-innocent expression.”

He sat up and put on his most dramatically cherub face to demonstrate. “Who? Me, Professor? I’ve no idea what ye’re talking about. You know I wouldn’t do a terrible thing like that, now don’t you, Sir?”

He laughed. “It drove me sister, Meav, crazy! She could never get me in trouble.”

The truth was, she could never get him in trouble with anyone except his Aunt Colleen. Everyone said she was a muggle, but Seamus wasn’t so sure. She had to have the Sight, for she could see through any lie. She also knew a spell or two for seeing what happened behind her back.

Don't do it to much. Or else it'll get annoying. trust me. by Delany

Delany listened to Seamus intently before already finding her falws in his plan.

"That may work for you, but at my old school, you'd be called a suck-up and be banned from any social life ever again. My school was harsh." Delany said as she leaned off her arms.

She set her books next to her and stood up. She stretched and looked back over at Seamus.

"Now, my plan would work becaaaause the tecaher wouldn't know you did it. You would have to be sneaky. Stealthy. Ijncognito. and any other synonyms to go along with that. " She said as she picked her books up and tucked them under her arm.

"Well. It's getting late. And unless you have a boatload of questions for me, then I'm done. I've run out of questions. Are you going to check those out?" Delany said as she stood up and waited for Seamus. "I mean it is late. Probably 9:30. Curfew is at 10:00 and I still have to un-pack. Maybe we could see each otehr tomorrow."

Delany stood and waited to see if Seamus was coming. She hoped she didn't bore him to sleep.
